My husband really got into yarrows when we were on the farm and he noticed how both low maintenance and gorgeous they were...not to mention spread beautifully! This newest one we've added to the garden starts out red, then eventually turns to yellow. Way cool, no?
PS - did you know that the yarrow plant's genus name Achillea "is in reference to Achilles, hero of the Trojan Wars in Greek mythology, who used the plant medicinally to stop bleeding and heal the wounds of his soldiers"? Thanks to the Chicago Botanic Garden for that tidbit!
