A very last minute addition to my backyard garden, I decided to snag a little Hot Lips salvia, one of the predominant varieties in nurseries, to a border spot in an area that is full sun in summer, part sun in winter, and incredibly low maintenance (it can deal with moist soil, it can thrive as a drought tolerant plant...sounds perfect to me!). Plus it's got that irresistible 'pop' of color in an area that right now is quite green after the large nearby shrubs finished blooming a while back.
Not a fan of red? Try the unique Amethyst Lips instead...I love them even more and they are thriving up in our front yard garden....
