While it did get a couple hours of early morning sun, my first home's north side of the house was pretty perfect for a shade garden. From fuschia to huckleberry to heuchera, it definitely prettied up an otherwise dull area. Tip: Look up your area's 'Native Plant Sales' online. They're not often well promoted but even smaller areas will often have them as fundraisers and is one of the best ways to get inexpensive - and native - plants for both shade and sun.
