Ooh la la, the Mock Orange! Ever since procuring some at the local native plant sale a decade or so ago, I have loved these simple white citrus-scented blooms!! For our backyard, this "Snowbelle" variety is quite different than the Lewis version that I'm used to. The first year it was planted, we had a couple of blooms...and this is what year two looks like!
This variety is described as being a 4' tall shrub, but it's definitely gone wider first, as you can see from the photo below! I can't tell if it needs support to grow tall as well of wide like this, but right now I'm just letting the bees enjoy this spider-y looking, sweet-smelling native shrub.
