One of my favorite West Coast natives is definitely the manzanita. There are SO many gorgeous varieties, and they have all season interest due to their small blooms in late winter as seen here in this "Sentinel" variety, to their gorgeous trunks and branches year round. They are hardy and drought-resistant as well, so a perfect addition to our rockery that leads up to our house!
