Lupine: “The Pages"

The proof is in the pudding - we had a WEIRD spring! Everything is behind schedule! Our gorgeous new cherry red lupine in our front flower garden literally just started blooming this final week of July - and it's noted as a 'late spring' bloomer.

But hey, it was worth the wait and the pollinators are happy to tackle it, particularly bumblebees. The latter come up to the blossoms and push and vibrate their way in, it's pretty cool to watch. So as long as you deadhead them regularly, more and more spikes of this gorgeousness will appear for months to come...and I for one am loving it!
