Lemon balm - AKA lemon mint - is one of my favorite fillers in the garden. It's green, leafy, smells great, grows fairly quickly, is hardy, has a million applications both in and out of the applications (click here for a few ideas), AND - unlike it's peppermint cousins - is not going to spread like wildfire. Deadhead it when it blooms before it goes to seed and you're all good. But right now? Snag a few leaves, chop it up and combine it with some ginger in your tea and sip, sip, sip...
