Not the most in-focus, but creeping up on Betty the other day when I learned this was her new favorite nesting spot (she's a late layer and the broodiest of the bunch, so we weren't surprised to find she'd established an area for her eggs), I couldn't help but snap this shot. The Otto Quast - a Spanish lavender - has by far been the strongest performer of all of our lavenders, growing rapidly, being incredibly cold- and rain- hardy, and has been a delight in this corner of our backyard garden.
