Also known more simply as Tickseed, coreopsis has always been an old reliable in all of our gardens...until we moved back to the city in 2021, and learned quite quickly that our ducks LOVE to nibble at the greenery! So with that, I decided to give it a fair shot at life and transplanted it into the front yard, to a spot in a section near our veggie beds that gets the best light. And how it has rewarded us! This li'l plant had literally been chewed to the ground by my little webfooted demons, and it sprung back in a hurry after being put in a safer place! The other bonus? It's just coming into bloom here in mid-June, and therefore lighting up the area next to our Oriental Poppies that are now simply seed pods...woo hoo!
