In our little cottage in the city, my nextdoor neighbor had the most beautiful anemones growing. Having only seen short anemones in my past, I was thrilled to discover the Japanese anemone that grows to 3-4' in height, and had this on my list when we came out to the Valley. I planted it along our fenceline with the knowledge it appreciates moist soil and loves to naturalize, and therefore is in a great place to spread.
Plus, how cool is it to have flowers that are JUST starting to bloom as we reach the second half of August?
