Back in my very first home, when establishing our first side yard garden, I took advantage of the inexpensive Heucheras to fill in the part shade area. Also known as Coral Bells, they are a fantastic filler in so many ways, and come in so many colors. This "Ruby Bells" variety might just be my new favorite after getting up close and personal with its blooms! While the flowers only last around 8 weeks, that's a heckuva lot more than lilacs or tulips, plus they brighten up a part shade area while being super tolerant of moist soil. And these flowers in particular sure stand out, don't you agree?
