Heirloom Chickens: Raising French Houdans for Meat


Raising chickens for meat was one of the proudest accomplishments of my life, y'all. We learned SO much and it changed our lives for the better. Raising almost 100 heirloom chickens during our time on the farm taught me so much about the intricacies of our food system, how much environment and feed play into not just sustainability but flavor, and of course walking the talk when it comes to literally growing your own food.
