How could I not add a fuschia variety that pays homage to my hometown? The luscious blooms of the 'City of Portland' variety of fuschia are indeed gorgeous, and bonus they can take a part sun environment which, in the summer, the area by our back gate gets several hours of per day.
One interesting note however is that this is thus far not nearly as 'upright' as it claims. In fact, in its first couple months in our garden it looks kind of like I planted the hanging kind that were in my gram's baskets on her back patio, but it's only half the 2' in height thus far that it's supposed to reach, so I'll be keeping a close eye on it - particularly with our crazy ducks who have been tramping around in the area recently! With those colors, what's not to love?
