Daylily: “American Revolution"

I've had both limited and resounding success with lilies over my gardening life, and have noticed how diverse their needs are, learning that there is definitely not a one-size-fits-all approach to caring for them. This daylily has thus far proven to be quite tough...and blooming like crazy in our recent heat wave. It is fine with wet feet, and now I just hope it'll get bushier so the dog won't step on it when he hops off the side of the deck where I've planted them!

The first lilies I ever planted were at my first home, a huge bunch of them gifted by a former neighbor's mother who'd dug them out of her yard, which I then literally just stuffed into the ground where I'd had an old tree-of-heaven (AKA tree-from-hell) removed. No fertilizer, no watering, no special treatment. A rip-roaring success of orange gorgeousness (below), as well as an amazing weed suppressor.

I've had mixed results since then, with some beautiful Entrapment lilies at the cottage in the city, and now that we're in a spot that has some wet areas in the back garden, I thought I'd take advantage of this 'American Revolution' variety. It's known for its hardiness, and thus far I give it a big thumbs up.
