There's nothing like August flowers - that point where you're not sure if new flowers will emerge and when they do, they prove to have been well worth the wait. Crocosmia is, along with the nearby lobelia and bee balm, is made for hummingbirds - and exactly why I planted a bunch of all three right by our deck in our back garden in prime viewing territory!
Crocosmia is one of those unique garden plants that likes moist soil - but is also drought tolerant when established. But more importantly? It's gorgeous. So, so gorgeous.
