The rockrose is so reliable and so lovely everywhere I've lived...except when it's near our ducks! Back at our last little cottage in the city, I planted a white one near the original site of their duck house, and the four of them took it down like a bowl of candy, I swear! The leaves must taste darn good, as they leave the majority of plants alone...so we knew this time around to definitely plant this hardy flowering shrub elsewhere! (I did plant this one in the front garden there after the first debacle...) I love them in all their purplish and pinkish - and sometimes whitish - splendor. This one only gets about 3' tall but has a nice long spread and is very low maintenance, which is great for our side yard garden (not to mention it's a nice little display for those walking by our new place !).
