California Lilac: "Yankee Point"


With our house set up off the street and a rockery in front, I've been obsessed with planting erosion-control shrubbery at the top of what I call the "cliff". And while I'd already planted smaller "Point Reyes" ceanothus groundcovers on the slope, I wanted something bigger....and was super stoked to discover the "Yankee Point" variety that not only grows about 2' tall, but at maturity will stretch up to 10' wide. And after only about 7-8 months, it's doubled in size and definitely showing us what it's going to be capable of. So very cool. That and a few other varieties in front, matched with a couple in back? It's kinda purple heaven, y'all...
