One of the oldest varieties of Ceanothus, the Concha California Lilac was a real score for me because it's one of the largest ones, estimated to grow 8' tall and up to 10' wide - the PERFECT shrub to go in front of this window, to provide some lovely natural shade to block that summer heat, not to mention add a bit of privacy. I also love the fact that it blooms a bit later than our big one in the back yard, so that somewhere in our yard we have California Lilacs blooming from April through June (...or later?). And what a gorgeous showstopper in front of our house, not to mention vibing pretty nicely with the water tank, no?
