Burnet: “Red Thunder”

Burnet is a new addition back in the city for us, something that I've found to be perfectly suited for growing right amongst the alliums. As the alliums die back (their stalks I leave up because they're just too pretty even after blooming...), the burnet comes up and blooms, attracting pollinators and filling in what would have been an empty space in the lower tier of our garden that gets a decent amount of afternoon shade. If I had to plant it again, however, I'd put it with the rest of my less drought-tolerant plants, as burnet does like to be in moister soil than the yarrow and rosemary and Russian sage shrubs around it. Perhaps a border of this in the future somewhere else???
