One of the many things I love about my husband is his deep abiding love of nature, in particular horticulture. Along with that, I learned after we got married that he has quite the hidden talent for...floral arranging! He could absolutely jump into the work if he wanted to, and one of my favorite glimpses of him is when he's been out in one of our gardens over the years, hunting for the perfect flower, whether for a small posie, a large vase, or just something to surprise me with.
I've tried my best, but my main flower arranging ability is basically jamming as much of the same flower in one vase as possible. Not that this is a bad thing, but the talent for combining colors and textures is something I very much give props to my honey for. One thing we both agree on? There are so many easy things around the house to use as vases. Sure, the occasional glass florist's vase is awesome, but don't be afraid to grab whatcha got to put some fresh flowers in wherever you see them growing, from Mason jars to pitchers to a simple drinking glass to a repurposed condiments jar!
With that, here are some of our easy ways we have displayed the flowers we pick from our garden...not to mention an example of how you can show off even some greenery to add a li'l bit of nature to a tiny vase The first three are in our home as we speak!
“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in--what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.” ~ Victor Hugo
